Towards the end of March, I had the pleasure of photographing an Asian wedding. This was my first Asian wedding which I have photographed and it was a real privilege to be part of their day and experience the different culture of their wedding day.
As you may recall, we had a few weeks of snow in March and the snow fell heavily the night before their wedding which you wouldn’t expect in March. However, the weather this year has been quite unpredictable so anything is possible!
The day started for me with bridal preparations at the bride’s family home where the ceremony also took place with both of their families present. The ceremony is conducted separately with the groom first followed by the bride, after which they both join together to exchange rings.
We had originally planned to go to Darley Park in Derby after the ceremony to capture their bride and groom portraits, however, due to the heavy snowfall we went to a local park nearby. It was bitterly cold they did really well to venture out into the snow but I think their snowy portraits were worth it.
It was then onto the Anoki Restaurant in Derby where their wedding guests joined them to commence their celebrations.
As you will see from the photos below, the bride looked absolutely stunning. I would like to thank both the bride and groom for asking me to be their wedding photographer and for making me so welcome on the day. It was a pleasure to be part of your day and I wish you all the happiness in the world together.
Thank you also to the staff at Anoki Restaurant who again were very welcoming and attentive to everyone.
I received a lovely message from the bride and groom the day after their wedding to say:-
“Thanks for trekking it with us in the snow. I hope your first “Asian wedding” wasn’t too bad. We had a number of people mention how professional you were and with quite a few more weddings coming up, you may be getting a number of requests to photograph more Asian weddings”.
