Relaxed Wedding Photography
Relaxed Wedding Photography with a Documentary Approach
If the thought of endless group photos and forced poses makes you queasy, you may just like my relaxed approach to photographing weddings.
My wedding photography style is all about photographing real moments which tell a story of your wedding day.
I don’t follow trends and prefer to keep to a classic timeless style so you won’t cringe in 10 years time.
When you look through your photos I want you to smile, laugh and possibly cry (in a good way!). It’s about the moments you see and moments you don’t.
As your wedding photographer I take on the responsibility to be the person who, after the vows have been exchanged and the cake has been eaten, will provide you with lasting memories for years to come.
Most couples who book me will say that they don’t like posing and this is where my relaxed wedding photography style works for them because they receive natural and beautiful photos without feeling out of their comfort zone.
As a Nottingham wedding photographer, I have photographed 100’s of weddings at East Midlands Wedding Venues and throughout the UK.
You don’t always see everything and, as your wedding day whirls by, you may not remember everything.
I provide couples with photos of fleeting moments which can’t be repeated. Photos which show the love, the laughter, the smiles and the tears.
I have developed a pretty good instinct for when something is going to happen from the way people interact with each other. In addition, my calm personality means I blend in at weddings rather than take over.
Wedding Happiness … captured just the way it happens.
– natural and timeless-
I’ll plan some time with you in your day to create some beautiful and natural portraits now you are newly-weds. Nothing forced just classic and stylish portraits.
How long we spend on these is completely down to you. The time will often vary depending on the venue and grounds we have to cover. Couples may want 5 mins or 25 minutes on their portraits and as long as I know what you want, I’ll find the best locations for you these to take place.

Group photos at weddings
(just a few)
I suggest around 6 group photos at a wedding. I do talk to you about this prior to your wedding so you have some guidance when planning your day.
It’s easy to get carried away when compiling a list of group photos you think you need but ask yourself is that how you want your photos to reflect your wedding day.
I’m never too far away so one thing I always say to couples is just grab me when you’re with your friends and ask for an impromptu photo rather than adding it to the list of formal photos. After 12 years of photographing weddings, I can honestly say this works out so much better.
I’m always ready to capture you and your guests having your best day together.
you’ll love my style if …
- it’s important you spend as much time as possible with your family and friends on your wedding day.
- you value professional photos but aren’t so keen on posing.
- you’re pretty relaxed and want your photos to reflect this.
- you don’t want a photographer to take over your day but appreciate guidance.
- you’ve made a decision it’s your day and you’re going to do it you’re way.
