An intimate wedding at Thornbridge Hall in Derbyshire
I was delighted to be asked to photograph Cathy and Andrew’s wedding in the breathtaking surroundings of the Thornbridge Hall Estate in Derbyshire this April.
From the moment I stepped inside Thornbridge Hall, I was bowled over by the interior, beautifully styled with character at every turn.
It was an intimate wedding with 13 guests including their gorgeous daughter, who was a flower girl. Cathy looked beautiful in a sophisticated wedding dress, which was perfect for the elegance of the Music Room where the ceremony was held.
We were fortunate with the weather, and after the ceremony, guests enjoyed drinks and canapés in the gardens. I made the most of Thornbridge Hall’s spectacular grounds including the Italian Gardens, for a relaxed portrait session with Cathy and Andrew. That said, even if the weather had turned, there are equally beautiful indoor spaces ideal for portraits.

WEDDING DAY HIGHLIGHTS AT THORNBRIDGE HALL
Cathy and Andrew chose an extended version of my micro wedding photography collection, which worked brilliantly to capture Cathy’s bridal preparations, the ceremony, portraits around the gardens, and the start of their wedding breakfast.

About Thornbridge Hall Estate
If you’ve never been to Thornbridge Hall, it really is worth a visit. It’s a Grade II Listed Stately Home in the heart of the Peak District, Derbyshire, described as the “Quirkiest Stately Home in the UK” – and it certainly lives up to this. As well as offering a picturesque and distinctive setting for weddings, it’s also a private family residence and opens for guided tours.
I’d also like to say a big thank you to the wedding events team at Thornbridge Hall. Their support on the day and in the run-up to the wedding was really appreciated. Nothing was too much trouble, and their warm and welcoming approach reflects the spirit of Thornbridge Hall Estate throughout.
