South Muskham Newark Wedding Photographer

I’m delighted to start the New Year with the beautiful wedding of Catherine and Matthew which took place in May 2014.

My day started at St. Wilfred Church in South Muskham. Their ceremony included two special readings by Catherine’s dad and her nephew.

After the “I do’s” and signing of the register, everyone gathered outside of the church to congratulate Catherine and Matthew before Catherine and Matthew drove off to meet their guests at their house where they had a marquee for the celebrations to begin.

Fortunately, the rain just held off before leaving church but it was torrential for a large part of the day – although the rain didn’t stop the fun for one second.

Catherine and Matthew had arranged for a buffet and chocolate fountain with plenty of alcohol to get the party started. They even took to serving behind the bar at one point much to the delight for their guests.

Later in the day, Catherine’s dad performed a song with his guitar but it wasn’t long before one of the children got hold of the microphone to sing his own song, “ba, ba, black sleep”!

In the evening, there was a hog roast in the garden and the evening entertain began when Catherine took Matthew to the dance floor for their first dance. Their guests continued to fill the dance floor for the night.

When I first met Catherine in 2013 to talk about her wedding photography, she expressed how informal her wedding day would be and that she was really keen for her photos to represent this and capture the flow and spirit of the day.

Surprisingly, Catherine didn’t like having her photo taken (nor Matthew for that matter) and it was only later in the day, after the rain had stopped and with a little persuasion from her friends, that she came to me and said they would like a few bride and groom portraits.

As you will see from their photos, Catherine looked stunning and Catherine and Matthew really do make a wonderful couple – hence why I find it surprising that they didn’t like having their photo taken!

The handful of bride and groom portraits were just enough for them and the rest of their photos were taken capturing them with friends and family enjoying a beautiful day to the full.

I was so nervous about prospect of being photographed and had such bad experiences of other photographers at friends weddings. I cannot put into words just how perfect you were, you worked so hard!!”

“Thank you, have received the USB also, We are so so thrilled with the photos!! They are amazing, you have captured so many moments and peoples personalities perfectly. You are very talented, I have never looked at any photos of myself and liked them, but there are so many I LOVE!! You worked so hard and made everyone so relaxed. How ever am we going to choose what to put in the album? They really are beautiful. Can’t thank you enough.”

Thank you once again Catherine and Matthew. It’s been an absolute pleasure to get to know you and to be part of your wedding day. I wish you all the best for 2015 – I sincerely hope all your dreams come true and I wish you all the best in your future together.
