Rainy weddings – Embrace the umbrella
There is one element of a wedding that no-one can predict.
There is one element of a wedding that everyone dreads.
There is one element of a wedding that everyone talks about.
The weather. The great British weather! We can’t avoid it and, as a wedding photographer, we have to make the most of what we have on the day.
This wedding took place in December 2011, just before Christmas. And it rained. A lot.
When Gemma, the bride, arrive at Church, it was dark and raining. She got out of the car, lifted her dress to avoid it trailing on the wet floor and made a dash for the church entrance whilst still having time for a smile and hello to someone who was waiting at the side of the church to see her arrive.
I love this photo simply for the story it tells. The rain didn’t spoil the day one bit and only added to the mood of the photo.
Gemma and Angus’ wedding took place at St. Mary’s Church Newton Solney followed by a reception at Burton on Trent Town Hall.
