Wedding photography at The Goosedale, Nottingham of Maria and Nick
At the end of January, I had the pleasure of photographing Maria and Nick’s wedding.
The day started in Hucknall at Maria’s parent’s home where Maria and her bridesmaids got ready for the big day ahead.
The weather at the beginning of the day was beautiful and sunny and with a rainy forecast ahead, we took this opportunity to take some photographs when Maria was ready outside of her family home with two very cool vintage wedding cars.
I then headed to St. Mary’s Magdalene Church in Hucknall to meet Nick and his groomsmen and capture photos of their wedding guests arriving. There were a few familiar faces as I had photographed one of Nick’s best man’s wedding in 2011.
I think it’s fair to say the best men played a few tricks on Nick throughout the day. A couple of those were in the church, namely fake rings and writing the words “help me” on the bottom on Nick’s shoes (Maria and Nick both oblivious to this during the ceremony!).
Following a beautiful service it was then on to The Goosedale in Nottingham for the drinks reception. Maria and Nick just got into their wedding car in time as there was an almighty storm with streaks of lightening. The rain continued for a while but it stopped briefly so we quickly went in to the gardens at the Goosedale for photos although the majority of Maria and Nick’s photos were taken indoors as the ground was so wet.
Following the wedding breakfast, the speeches took place and it was certainly filled with laughter and gasps especially during the best men’s speech where a video was played and Nick painfully watched his favourite snowboard being cut up. The boys wouldn’t have been so cruel though not to save Nick some of his snowboard as a memorabilia and presented him with a snowboard pendant! I’ll say no more on this subject ; -)
It was then onto the evening’s entertainment which kicked off with Maria and Nick taking to the dance floor for their first dance. Their guests had already been dancing prior to this so I knew they would be joining them pretty quickly so it didn’t take long to fill the dance floor.
As you will see from the photos below, Maria looked absolutely gorgeous. Maria and Nick didn’t stop smiling all day and make a wonderful couple.
I would like to take this opportunity of thanking Maria and Nick for asking me to be their wedding photographer. It was a pleasure to be part of your day and I wish you both a future of happiness together.
Thank you also to Amy and Chris for recommending me – I really appreciate it. Thank you also to the staff at The Goosedale who were excellent.
