Hi, I’m Alison, a newborn photographer with over a decade specialising in capturing newborn babies. Working with families across Nottinghamshire, Derby, and Leicestershire, you can trust your baby is in expert hands to capture natural and heart-warming photos.
For your newborn session, I create a mini studio which I can set up in any home. It’s a familiar environment where you and your baby feel most at ease.
My sessions are designed to be effortless, allowing you to enjoy these early moments in your own surroundings. Parents love the convenience and personal touch of an at-home session, making the experience as easy as possible for both baby and family.

My approach to photographing babies
Your baby is safely posed and styled in a way which looks natural and yet takes patience to achieve the perfect pose. My approach captures your baby’s purity, using simple blankets and optional tiny wraps or hats as accents. The focus remains entirely on your baby rather than distracting props and trends which will date in years to come. The result is beautiful and timeless photos.
As a mum, I understand how quickly those first few weeks fly by, and capturing these fleeting moments ensures you’ll always have a beautiful reminder of your baby’s earliest days.

Nothing short of magical – in awe!
Alison is an excellent photographer whose approach with our newborn was nothing short of magical. She was gentle and careful while delicately positioning our little girl into the most adorable poses and positions. We watched with awe as she soothed our fussy little one and within no time at all, had her in another adorable pose.
She was exactly what we were looking for, she was patient with our toddler who wanted to be involved (as toddlers do) and captured the most beautiful photos of our toddler and newborn together.

Our photoshoot yielded absolutely beautiful photos that captured that brief moment in time as a newborn freezing a blissful almost serene moment among the chaos of having a newborn. We had a home-based shoot – Alison made amazing use of our very limited space, she was skilled in setting up the shoot and very attentive ensuring we were happy with the set up, drops and poses.
She was able to use her lighting setup to fantastic effect so we were not concerned our living room had poor lighting. During the viewing, Alison ensured we were happy with the photos, her fantastic post-production, packages and other options. She ensured we got the right frames, settings and styles we needed. Everything was personal and professional.
She is very friendly, caring, extremely comfortable to be around and easy to talk to. From the moment of contact to the delivery of the photos, we couldn’t have had a better experience; the end results are everything we had hoped for and more.

Your Newborn Photo Shoot Experience
Choose a Mini or Bespoke Newborn Session
A Bespoke Newborn Photo Session lasts up to 3 hours and is recommended if you have your heart set on those sweet curled-up newborn photos. It also includes time for sibling and family shots. Whilst each session length varies based on your baby’s needs, the allocated time allows for feeding, soothing, and posing your baby without feeling rushed. These sessions follow your newborn’s lead, often resulting in a varied selection of sleepy and awake shots.
Travel is included across Nottingham, Derby and parts of Leicestershire. I am happy to travel further afield upon request which will incur additional travel and time costs.
A Mini Newborn Session lasts 1 hour and is ideal if you would just like a few photos to capture your baby whilst they are still tiny. Due to the time allocated, a mini session does not include parent and sibling photos. If your baby falls into a deep sleep, I will gently pose them into newborn positions. If your little one is unsettled or doesn’t nap, I focus on taking awake baby shots only. For mini sessions, travel is included within 10 miles of NG5 7NE.
Book a Date
If you are currently pregnant: You can make a provisional booking based on your baby’s due date. I make a note of your due date in my diary and if you are feeling up to visitors, we’ll arrange your session in the first 1-3 weeks. Making a provisional booking ensures availability around your due date as I only take a limited number of sessions each week in order to devote quality time to each family.
If your baby has already arrived: Please let me know your postcode and whether you would like a Bespoke or Mini Session so I can advise of the earliest available date. Whilst the ideal time for baby photography is around 2 weeks old, I take the same approach up to 5 weeks old.
Booking Information: I will send you an online booking form to complete and a £95 booking fee is required to secure your session with me. This is deducted from your collection price. For Bespoke Newborn Sessions outside of the Nottinghamshire/Derby/Leicestershire area, 50% of Collection 3 plus travelling expenses is payable at the time of booking.
About your baby photo session at home
Your photo session will take place at your home and I’ll send you some notes to prepare for your session to help create the right environment for your baby photos. A Mini Session lasts 1 hour and a Bespoke Newborn Session up to 3 hours.
Your baby will be comfortably and safely posed on a large newborn beanbag which I cover with a blanket to create a backdrop. I bring a selection of blankets for you to choose from, together with little wraps should you wish to use them. I also bring a portable studio light so there’s no need to worry about lighting.
After your session
Following your session, I professionally edit your photos with care so that you receive a strong, varied collection of baby photos to cherish this special time. As part of my baby photography service, I provide subtle retouching to enhance photos by removing temporary blemishes, scratches, jaundice tones and red blotches (which often appear on a new baby’s skin) while carefully preserving your baby’s natural beauty.
I present both colour and black and white versions of each photo where both versions complement the photo.
Viewing Your Photos
Your photos will be ready to view approximately 2 weeks following your session via an online gallery or at your home. All collections include digital images which are supplied as printable files so you can print and share them with your family. I also offer professionally framed prints which can be purchased as an additional product and have samples of these to show you should you wish to see them.
Ordering
Once you have chosen your collection, you will be invoiced for any balance remaining. Upon receipt of payment, the turnaround for photos is as follows:-

Payable as follows:-
£95 booking fee to secure your photo session which is deductible from the session fee. The remaining balance of £100 is payable on the day of the photo session.
Collection 3 Bespoke session

Payable as follows:-
£95 booking fee payable to secure your session date + £100 payable on the day of the shoot. These payments are deducted from Collection 2 or Collection 3 which you choose once you have viewed your photos.
